Okay, so I finally finished Twilight (two months after I started). Everyone I know said I would love it (based on my Buffy obsession). And, I admit, I have a weakness for vampires, and especially werewolves. Twilight has both, so I thought, hey, this book is going to be awesome.
Wow, was I wrong. Now, I’m sure droves of people wearing “I love Edward” t-shirts are going to mob me as soon as I say this, but Twilight was BORING! Maybe it’s just me (okay, I’m pretty sure it is just me), but I want some action already. Enough blabbering on about Edward’s chiseled face and breath-taking good looks. Whatever happened to decapitation and some good old-fashioned stakings?
Don’t get me wrong. Twilight is well written. I’m not saying I hated the book, I’m just saying that it didn’t live up to my Buffy-based expectations. Also, I should probably mention that I have a general bias against romance novels. So, all in all, Twilight is a good book, it’s just not for me. From what everyone tells me, the second book in the series has way more action…so MAYBE I’ll check that one out.

It’s refreshing to read something a little different about Twilight. I have to agree that SM dwells a little much on the angelic appearances of the vampires but it’s coming from the mind of Bella who, as a normal human being, has insecurities about her own looks. This theme does continue through all the books, with the last one being by far the most annoying. Bella should’ve grown a little wiser with the time and experiences she had.

wow finally someone who’s like me! Twilight is boring isn’t it? I bought the book last May (in Saudi Arabia although I’m from the Philippines, cuz apparently, its sold out here and it is so hard to grab a copy of it) and I finished it last August. It bored me big time and I have to say im not much of a fan of those mushy, repetitive and slow scenes between Bella and Edward. And do you notice how many times had Bella stated how Godly like Edward is? OK we get it, stop repeating it vampire-liking-girl. I give Twilight a 3 out of 5. Yes I also agree that it is a well-written book but just not my type.
