I read this book yesterday for my 30 Chapter Books in 30 Days experiment. The Magic Tree House is one of the most popular series out there, and it’s kind of a strange phenomenon. On the one hand, parents will love these books about two sibling who travel back in time and learn about history. Kids will love the simple language and the eye-catching titles. But, as many other reviewers have pointed out, they’re not very well written. My main issues are the flat characters and predictable plot. However, this may be the very reason that early readers love these books. As a transition from picture books to chapter books, I would highly recommend this series. However, older readers will find more fulfillment with other series.

Not that I’m impressed a lot, but this is more than I expected when I stumpled upon a link on Delicious telling that the info here is quite decent. Thanks.
