Mainly, book reviews of young adult novels. Why young adult? Well, apart from the fact that I’m a YA librarian and reading YA lit is part of my job, I’m one of the growing camp of readers who finds that YA fiction is often better written than adult fiction.
In addition to book reviews, you will also find Book Dweeb Rants, Book News and Site News (starting March 2008).
Why did you start Book Dweeb?
I took a young adult literature class in June 2007 in which we had to read 30 YA novels in a month and a half. This was WAY beyond my normal reading speed, so I wanted to get some sort of tangible product out of the ordeal. That’s when I first thought of a blog. It seemed like a good idea to create a record of my reading, so in the future (aka a week or two later) I could remember something about what I had read. The blog has grown a lot since then, and I hope to continue adding new content well into the future.
Who is Book Dweeb?
Book Dweeb is a YA librarian who loves writing (fiction and nonfiction), reading (for pleasure, not grades) and most things scifi/fantasy. Other interests include alien babies, Browncoats (okay, actually anything Joss Whedon), Philip Pullman, Harry Potter (Lupin for president!) and massive (diabetes-inducing) amounts of chocolate.
